My boyfriend and I are finally moving in together. I just recently graduated nursing school and took my licensing exam (waiting for the results still, but I studied my brains out). I quit my retail job a month ago I had here in New York to prepare for the exam. Now we are stuck in limbo waiting for an apartment. Against my better judgment we have subscribed to 4, yes 4 of those apartment searching sites- 60 bucks a piece and still no luck. I have average credit because of medical bills from a car accident that were disputed. And he has poor credit because he got a consolidation loan 6 months ago to solve his financial issues/ student loans. He is in California already working two jobs and waiting for me. I’m waiting on my license and a apartment. My question is, after all that — am I missing something? Is there a reason, two non-smoking, young, responsible adults with no criminal backround, no pets and two current sources of income cannot find an apartment in Southern California?

i graduated in december 08, i have had my loans in deferment / forbearance until now. i have multiple loans for a total of $30,000. I am currently working 2 jobs but am not making enough to pay 200+ a month and i have about 8 student loans. i am considering trying to consolidate all my loans so i can just pay one monthly payment instead of trying to keep up and keep track with multiple lenders but i do not know too much about consolidation or what company to go to for the consolidation loan. i do know that i will end up paying more in the long run, but rite now im barley paying my bills and rent as is and i don’t mind consolidating. i would really appreciate any advice or info anyone can give me on the topic. here is my current student loan picture some are at a fixed rate others are variable… none are in default…

Please read below and advise…
I attended University of Phoenix, was assured that I would not incurr additional expenses outside of loan. Now I have original loan, citibank loan, and U of P is after me for additional money. The original loan company was applied to for U of P loan, they said they covered it, balance reflects change, but citibank is coming at me saying they paid! Citibank refuses to provide proof that I borrowed the money, but are attempting to attach to my credit. U of P will not accept lower payments, without attaching my credit. Original loan is the only one with a sane payment, and I am out of deferments, unless I go back to school and add MORE debt.
This huge amount of payment is obviously temporary, the problem is that they all want to be paid right now.
Another thing… Can Citibank attach my credit without providing me proof of debt? How do I protect myself from this?
